Tag Archives: control emotions

This week we have been confronted with the task of entering the SILENCE and discovering our innate gifts.  I find this a very challenging task and have apparently set up some roadblocks to achieving it.  They are as follows:

1. Unwillingness/reluctance to give up 24 to 72 hours of my limited time to devote to this task—even though the resulting outcome may be stupendous.

2. Unwillingness/reluctance to pursue and or develop new skills

3.  Satisfaction with where I am now even though all financial targets have not been attained.

I honestly do not believe I am fearful of the task.  Rather I think the possible result is unimportant to me.  However, my respect for Mark J and his team is such that I am making a commitment to devote 3 hours of silence toward this task  by March 13. I always keep my promises.  Next week I will report back on the outcome of my experience.

Our emotions obviously have a major impact on how we face any given day. What is emotion?  Here are a couple of dictionary definitions that resonated with me.

A mental state that arises spontaneously rather than through conscious effort and is often accompanied by physiological changes

An affective state of consciousness in which joy, sorrow, fear, hate, or the like, is experienced

As I have read Mandino this week I have been very impressed by the following statements which I intend to integrate into my daily plan of action :

If I feel depressed I will sing

If I feel sad I will laugh

If I feel ill I will double my labor

If I feel fear I will plunge ahead

If I feel inferior I will wear new garments

If I feel uncertain I will raise my voice

If I feel poverty I will think of wealth to come

If I feel incompetent I will remember past success

If I feel insignificant I will remember my goals

I will add this to my tool box and use along with my mental diet to combat the trials I encounter. As I master my emotions and combine emotions with my thought I increase my power and then can consciously impact current and future actions and results.

I couldn’t decide which of these videos to share, so I included both.  I believe each of them is very relevant to this post.

The following video provides some tips on how to physically and cognitively invoke certain emotions.
