Tag Archives: power of thought

I found the thoughts presented in Haanel’s Week 10 lesson very powerful.  We can decree a thing and it shall be established [provided it is in harmony].  I find it mind-blowing to realize that through the power of my thought I can determine my success [or failure].  I have been actively practicing the Seven Laws of the Mind, now I can add the Law of Causation.  I have the ability [power] to concentrate and focus my thoughts on my desired objective {DMP}  and know that it will be manifested.  WOW.  My immediate concern is how to make certain I am in Harmony.  Review of past lessons reminds me if I am not harming others I am very likely to be in harmony.  This thought that changes my life must have power.  How do I give it power?  I must be observant, focused and persistent. I must be active.  Just thinking alone does not give my thought power.  Hmmmm!

However, when I consistently maintain a thought, visualize it, and act upon it I can give it power.  My action gives the thought vitality.  If I practice point 5 of the Blueprint Builder [benefit  to all] and am consistent and persistent, I will give power to my thought.  This is awesome.  If I think I can, I can.  If I add power to this thought—I will.  WOW!!!

I found this week’s lesson both thought provoking and challenging.  I clearly understand the message cognitively [intellectually], but am working on really ‘getting it’ so that I can integrate and apply it.

WEEK 7– 2015 MKMMA: Seven Day Mental Diet

This week’s 7 Day Mental Diet Exercise really brings home the power of thought.  We not only can but should take control of out thoughts.  It has been my experience that negative thoughts tend to attract negative feelings.  When we take charge and immediate replace a negative thought with a different or positive thought there may also be a concurrent change in our attitude.  Negative thoughts frequently bombard me, but since beginning this ‘Diet’ I have discovered an ability to quickly replace them.  Moreover, the more frequently I exercise this power the more quickly I am able to intervene.  The results seems to be that I am experiencing fewer negative thoughts.  I am, however, still a work in process.

An amazing side effect to this process has been that I seem happier; am angry less often, and seem to interact better with others.   Changing my thoughts (which affects my actions and attitudes)seems to have a positive impact on others. I am also adding a slight twist to my intervention.  In addition to replacing the thought I am adding a smile.  I don’t know if this helps me apply the intervention, but I certainly feel better.

I find I am a little behind this week.  I just completed my movie poster and have not begun my recording.  However, I anticipate completing it within the next few days. I am truly enjoying and benefiting from this awesome journey.

One of the things we learned early in this course is that thoughts are causes and results are effects.  When we control our thoughts we control the results.  This may sound simple but I have found that implementing this concept is not easy.  An understanding of the Seven Laws of the Mind helps in this process.  Mark J and his team have been like builders constructing a home.  First they laid the foundation and then continued to build on it.  It has also been that way in teaching us to understand the power of thought.

They have then incorporated the power of practice.  We have continually and consistently engaged in activities requiring we actively control our thoughts.  This practice of course improves our skill and we gain more control of our thoughts.  Lesson 21 states that the secret of success is to think Big Thoughts.  Prior to this course  I would not have fully grasped the power of that statement.  I would not have realized that thinking does indeed make it so.  I can now utilize the Law of Attraction and think of those things I want more of, such as peace, harmony, good health and adequate finances. The untutored might say this is being a ‘Pollyanna’ and that one doesn’t get finances just by thinking.  I would differ, because I spontaneously and out of the blue received an offer to refinance my home.  The refinance was completed in two weeks from the call to offer the new mortgage to the closing.  This refinance paid off my credit cards and provided the funds to purchase a new vehicle.  I needed the new vehicle with automatic transmission very much as due to arthritis of the left hip, I found it painful to drive my standard shift vehicle.  You have guessed right this was included in my DMP (definite major purpose).  I did not include the refinance, in fact that had not occurred to me.  My focus was on a different car.  Subby provided the means.

Lesson 21 also includes comments on prayer.  I pray frequently and have had most of my prayers answered.  But, there are times when I pray and feel I am not getting the answer that I want.  Prayer for me is holding a conversation with God.  Therefore I often remind myself that prayer is not a monologue with me just asking.  I must also listen to what God is saying to me.  I have found our sits seem to facilitate this process for me.  There is a designated time each day when I am ‘still’ and seem to hear His voice.  I have found that when I listen to this voice things go well for me.  I have also learned that God doesn’t always give me everything I ask for and some times He gives me my request and I wish I had not asked for that.

This course, though not at all spiritual, has drawn me closer to my Maker.  It has caused me to engage in more in depth thought and take control of my thoughts.  I am now aware of my ability and power to control my thoughts.  When they are not positive I can quickly utilize the Law of Dual Thought to replace the negative with a positive or different thought.  Since I am in control I can focus on thoughts that will aid me in achieving my major purpose which is good health, harmony, peace and adequate financial resources.

Thought is indeed powerful.  If I think little—achievements, finances, etc.– these things will be drawn to me in small amounts.  However if I think big—large rewards, large accomplishments, six figure incomes, etc.—these things will be drawn to me, for like attracts like.  My charge is to practice thinking only  thoughts that are helpful and beneficial. Thought is indeed power and Lesson 21 teaches that the secret of power is the consciousness of power.

In lesson 17 Haanel focuses our attention on distinguishing and understanding the difference between Reality and Symbol.  Many of us concentrate on achieving success, frequently defined as power and/or money—achieving a certain income level, certain job position, etc.    Statement 17-6 clarified for me and  defined concentration as total focus—so interested conscious of nothing else.  “Such concentration leads to intuitive perception and immediate insight into the nature of the object concentrated upon.”  In this lesson he seems to lay out a roadmap for activating your DMP [definite major purpose] and achieving your heart’s desire.  Thus one would only need to follow the map to attain ‘success’.

The following are key points that resonated with me.

17-7 All knowledge is the result of concentration of this kind;…the mind becomes a magnet and the desire to know draws the knowledge…

17-8 Subconscious desire arouses the latent faculties of the mind and difficult problems seem to solve themselves.

17-11 Concentration…transmutation of these thoughts into practical values

17-13 Weakness is the only barrier to mental attainment…ease and perfection are gained by repetition

17-15  Desire added to concentration will wrench any secret from nature.

17-20 …thought enables man to harness all other natural power.

17-21 Vibration is the action of thought; it is vibration which reaches out and attracts the material necessary to construct and build.

17-22 If you concentrate on some matter of importance, the intuitive power will be set in operation, and help will come in the nature of information which will lead to success..

17-25 …subconscious is omnipotent; there is no limit to the things that can be done when it is given the power to act.

17-28 You may be pursuing the symbols of power, instead of power itself.  You may be pursuing fame instead of honor, riches instead of wealth, position instead of servitude…

17-30 …the man who has found the true source of power…is no longer interested in its shams or pretensions.

17-32 …the Spirit of a thing is the thing itself, the vital part of it, the real substance.

There you have it.  Focus, concentrate on the reality, the spirit, the substance rather than the outward symbol e.g. wealth not money, leadership not position. Concentration will then provide the insight and tools to achieve the object of our concentration.

love    power3

Tis the week before Christmas and all through the house thoughts are focused on what?  My thoughts are on finding ways of sharing my love with others—family and friends, but also, others in general.

Haanel 12:17 states

…every thought has the inherent germ of truth in order that the law of growth will bring into manifestation good, for good alone can confer any  permanent power.

12:18 The principle which gives the thought the dynamic power..is the law of attraction, which is another name for love….the law of love…It is feeling that imparts vitality to thought.  Feeling is desire and desire is love.  Thought impregnated with love becomes invincible.

12:19…the law of love is the creative force behind every manifestation, not only of atoms, but of worlds, is the creative force behind every manifestation, not only of atoms, but of worlds, of the Universe, of everything of which the imagination can form any conception.

I believe my thoughts can provide me not only the power to achieve my DMP, the goals and objectives of my life, but also aid me in guiding others to similar successful actions.  I want to engage in actions that will help others, spiritually, physically and financially. I initiated this MKMMA journey with the goal in mind of improving myselfAlong the way my idea of a successful me has changed.  The themes of this course that have resonated most with me are the ones involving love.

Our power comes from our thoughts.

12:21 It is the combination of Thought and Love which forms the irresistible force, called the law of attraction.

12:25 Power comes through repose.  It is by concentration that deep thoughts, wise speech, and all forces of high potentiality are accomplished.

As we have learned in this course, knowledge does not apply itself.  We must take an active role.  Take control of our thoughts and connect with the power within.  Og Mandino notes in Scroll II

“Never will I allow my heart to become small and bitter , rather I will sharfe it and it will grow and warm the earth.”  I can focus on the negative—she did this to me—she said that—or I can use the mental diet and the law of dual thought.  I can choose to think of love and ways I can share it.  In this season of giving I choose to focus on LOVE and the POWER of THOUGHT.
